What does this job entail?

The KBC Group is undergoing a digital transformation. KBC Global Servicesis providing the software development and IT solutions for a wide range of projects that combine IT and digital banking.

You’re part of Trading Risk and Counterparty Credit Risk, responsible for monitoring, reducing and preventing risk in support of the Trading Market Risk Competence Center, the Counterparty Credit Risk Competence Center and KBC Group dealing room activities. It’s the place to be for insights into the dynamics, challenges and risks related to dealing room activities.

What’s involved in your role as our Functional Analyst Market Risk & Counterparty Credit Risk? You serve as a bridge between business and technical wizzes, translating business needs into a functional design. This means you’re involved across the whole cycle. You assess customer requirements and their complexity, perform business analyses, and write up functional specifications for all components of the product. You support development, testing, delivery and implementation, with customer requirements serving as your guiding light. You do all this in the Scaled Agile Framework environment.

With changes to the regulatory framework, as well as new products and business lines, you focus on simplified architecture where Market Risk and Counterparty Credit Risk are integrated in a single tool for calculating risk. This role challenges you, while giving you plenty of opportunity and encouragement to explore and expand your interest in ICT solutions.

What do we expect from you?

  • You respond to changes in regulatory framework and embrace new products and business lines.
  • You conduct functional analyses of information systems to make sure they respond to business needs while meeting architectural framework requirements and standards.
  • You translate functional design into the technical implementation for the software.
  • You provide support for various changes and enhancements. They include:
    • analysing service requests and end-user needs to determine feasibility, technological changes, resource requirements and project time estimates.
    • identifying the gaps between as-is and to-be.
    • drawing up functional designs of software. In doing so, you take technical constraints and the architecture of our environment into account.
  • You participate in every step of the software delivery lifecycle, beginning with the design/development stage, through the User Acceptance Testing and the production phase, as well as any after care that may be required during the warranty period.
  • You identify and analyse functional bugs and incidents that arise during testing and UAT, and in the production environments.

Your key strengths?

  • Your experience working as a bridge between IT and business/product owners, business analysts, system analysts or solution architects is perfect preparation for this role.
  • You’re familiar with areas such as market risk, counterparty credit risk or SA-CCR. What if you pair this knowledge with experience of risk systems like Algorithmics (ALGO) or Integrated Market and Counterparty Credit Risk (IMCR)? Even better!
  • You know the ins and outs of banking products, financial instruments and operations, as well as bank regulations. Experience in fintech banking or developing software for insurance or vendors will be highly appreciated.

    • functional modelling, including use case modelling and data modelling;

  • Your technical background means you understand ETL tooling, script and scheduling processes. As for setting up designs that work within the technical constraints of our environment? It’s a piece of cake for you.
  • You look forward to setting up, coordinating and executing end-to-end test plans.
  • Your English skills are excellent.

What can we offer you?

  • You’re assured of an excellent onboarding and a pleasant, collegial work atmosphere.
