What does this job entail?
As a cloud engineer in the financial sector, you have a huge challenge ahead of you. The correct technical functioning of a cloud platform is utterly crucial, with security, stability and reliability equally important.
This is why we work with state-of-the-art technology and follow a long-term strategy at KBC. It means we always know exactly where we are – in the present, and in the future.
You’ll find a tight group of experienced colleagues making up the team. They’ll help you off to a smooth start while remaining open to your input and insights. Together with them, you’ll commit yourself to our mission: becoming the reference for cloud-native application hosting and developing on the public cloud.
What do we expect from you?
- You’re responsible for the management, integration and maintenance of the KBC cloud platform. At the moment, we are managing active AWS cloud environments and keeping an eye on other public cloud providers.
- Your focus is technology and infrastructure services that are part of the centralised management environment (landing zone). The use and development methodologies of the cloud platform are performed by your colleagues from the DevOps team. You collaborate closely with them.
- You work with your colleagues on feasibility studies for new technological services or for improvements. As a result of this, you’re always thinking about security, ease of maintenance, flexibility and efficiency.
Your key strengths?
- You have a master’s or a bachelor’s degree in an IT-related subject.
- You have excellent knowledge of the language needed for working in an international context: you communicate at a professional level in English.
- You produce work of the highest quality, that is secure, easily maintained and clearly documented. You strive for excellence in everything you do.
- You can formulate a technical and structured vision and share this with your colleagues in a professional, constructive manner.
- You know some of the following technologies or principles, or you’re happy to quickly learn them:
- AWS infrastructure
- Terraform
- Infrastructure as code (IaC)
- CI/CD on AWS (CodePipeline, CodeBuild, Step Function, etc.)
- You’re a true team player: flexible, social, creative and positive. You can expect the same from your colleagues.
- You’re ready to come aboard within three months.
