What does this job entail?

Of course, our customers expect us to treat their data respectfully, and we do this in line with all regulations concerning data and privacy protection. As a Senior Data Protection Adviser, you will contribute to these efforts. Together with your colleagues in the Compliance Data Protection team, you will help KBC lead the way when it comes to data protection.
What do we expect from you?
- You will monitor relevant legislation and new developments regarding the processing of personal data and privacy laws.
- You will advise on implementation within KBC and monitor compliance across all of KBC's activities.
- You will advise on new products and activities from a data protection perspective and advise on the implementation of Data Protection Impact Assessments.
- You will support commercial line management in improving employee awareness and assist in the development of training programmes.
- You will develop internal policies and revise them where necessary
Your key strengths?
- You have expert knowledge of privacy regulations and have at least 10 years of practical experience in data and privacy protection
- You have good knowledge and a passion for data protection applied to technical and IT domains (e.g. cookies, tokenization, encryption, etc.) .
- You have a master's degree in a field such as law, economics, IT or similar.
- You have strong experience in IT related matters from a data protection point of view
- You are highly driven and fully committed.
- You have strong critical thinking and analytical skills, you can think outside the box and you take a solution-oriented approach.
- You can communicate clearly in English, French or Dutch.
- You can be assertive when necessary and can persuade others in a diplomatic manner.
- You can unite and lead people to achieve a common goal.
- You don’t have any problem with working independently, though you also enjoy working with others and achieving goals as a team.
