What does this job entail?

‘Where do I find my insurance policy?’ and ‘How can I save on my energy costs?’ Any time they have questions like these, KBC clients can rely on Kate, their digital assistant in KBC Mobile, for the answers.

As the scrum master in the free new ‘Kate’ agile release train, you work on new use cases and improve the performance and stability of existing capabilities. As you probably know, you play an important role as a scrum master: you make sure your team works smoothly.

We are currently putting the team together. Depending on this, either you or your colleague product owner will become the leader of the team. In any case, you’ll work very closely with the release-train engineer, the delivery manager and the product owner.

What do we expect from you?

You stimulate everyone to take ownership, give feedback to each other and sparring with ideas. By applying the principles of agile working, you ensure the goals are reached: added value is created for our clients via Kate.

  • You lead scrum ceremonies and supervise a balanced, feasible team planning.
  • You coach your team to find solutions to any bumps you encounter.
  • You stimulate a healthy team dynamic, a continuous workflow and the motivation to take lessons learnt to subsequent projects.
  • You work with the project owner to prepare the backlog and regularly update it. This ensures the priorities in every planning cycle are clear.
  • You monitor the team budget and keep stakeholders fully informed about it.

Your key strengths?

Confident businesswoman working on laptop at her workplace at modern office.Blurred background.
  • Just like Kate 😉, you have a proactive nature. You take on assignments spontaneously, coordinate with stakeholders, and with your colleagues in tow, you achieve the desired result.
  • Everyone in your scrum team can count on top-quality planning, plus your dedicated support and coaching. You know how to motivate others.
  • You communicate well in English: you’re friendly, clear and convincing, with a lot of empathy.
  • When there’s a problem, you have no issues identifying a pragmatic solution. You take unforeseen circumstances and last-minute changes in stride.
  • You have experience in a similar role, such as a project leader, team leader or scrum master.
  • Knowledge of bank and insurance products is a benefit.
  • Interest in technology is a must, although you don’t need to have any technical knowledge yourself. You’re particularly curious about how Kate works, as this will help you to direct your team.

What can we offer you?

  • You’re assured of an excellent onboarding and a pleasant, collegial work atmosphere. Only driven professionals in our team! Count on a pleasant way of working with short communication lines and team play.
  • The improvements you make possible are visible to all our clients.
  • Throughout your entire career at KBC, we encourage you to grow as a person and as a professional. You can follow training courses in which you further sharpen your hard and soft skills.
  • Our offices are easily accessible by public transport. You’re also welcome to partly work from home.
  • Flexible work hours help you to balance your work and your private life.
  • We offer you a permanent contract and a competitive salary, supplemented by extralegal benefits. Sounds familiar? Of course. It’s what you read in every job description. At KBC, we make a difference with our extended flex package. It’s too extensive to go into details here. However, we will happily discuss the various benefits—large and small—at your interview.

Can you help us make the difference?

"Together with the Product Owner, you have a key role in shaping the practical operation of your team. You coach your team toward continuous improvement with the goal of working together as efficiently as possible."

Ben
