What does this job entail?
You’ll find our department, Group Credit Risk, has strong team spirit. We all share a clear goal: we want to be the reference in the area of sustainable growth, while still fulfilling all our responsibilities to society and our community. We take credit decisions on the largest and highest risk concentrations, manage credit risks, draft credit policy guidelines and report to senior management and supervisors
Your focus in our team? Analysing credit requests from different companies to formulate advice. You do this for (potential) clients from a wide range of sectors and countries. Variation and challenges are assured!
As well as your colleagues in Belgium, you work closely with our teams in other home markets (the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Bulgaria) and KBC Bank branches in other countries. This gives your job an interesting international dimension.
What do we expect from you?
- You formulate independent credit advice on the basis of which your colleagues make final decisions about credit requests. These requests are delivered to you from our national and international commercial networks.
- You discuss requests with the relationship manager and analyse all relevant elements.
- You take a critical perspective that leads to a balance between the commercial elements of a dossier and the risks.
- You’ll gradually grow into a credit expert and regularly contribute to courses, mentorships, projects and workgroups. We consider the sharing of knowledge and experience to be important. Do you agree?
Your key strengths?
- You have a master’s degree in a subject such as (applied) economics or law. You preferably have experience with financial analyses or you’re familiar with credits.
- You quickly make targeted analyses of complex dossiers.
- You communicate in clear, well-structured English. This is the preferred language in the workplace and when you communicate with colleagues in other countries.
- You look forward to investigating economic and social evolutions so that you can incorporate them in the advice you give.
- You have no problem efficiently organising your work and meeting deadlines.
