What does this job entail?

ESG, AI and benchmark regulations … They’re all hot topics you’re sure to have heard about. In this context, the importance of market data is increasing. It’s a domain that’s in continuous motion due to changes in regulations, reporting requirements and innovations.

As a License Manager at KBC Asset Management, you strengthen the License Management team that is part of Operation Support, Oversight & Reporting. Your focus in this team? All licences for the management of market data, the internal needs relating to capturing market data, and an optimised, cost-efficient solution for fulfilling those needs. You’re the point of contact on this subject for colleagues, including those from the departments for portfolio management, finance and sales support, but also for the Market Data Competence Center for the KBC Group and external data suppliers.

As asset managers for the KBC Group, KBC AM manages funds and portfolios for a number of institutional and private clients. There is little doubt that market data plays a crucial role here. It’s an instrument that proves the high quality of our products and services to our clients, distributors and colleagues.

What do we expect from you?

  • You capture what business needs there are relating to market data. They may include benchmark data, reference data or ESG data.
  • You subsequently make sure we have the right licences for using the data. You do this either through direct collaboration with international parties like Bloomberg, LSEG and MSCI, the Market Data Competence Center of the KBC Group, or the Legal department.
  • You make sure data is used in agreement with licence contracts.
  • You maintain an overview of nearshored activities in our Shared Center in Brno. This may involve the invoicing process, the management of our terminal and the process of renewing contracts.
  • You participate in the annual budgeting process, helping to make sure budgets are not exceeded – an important contribution to keeping KBC AM operating costs under control.
  • As a newcomer to our team, some of these tasks will be your first focus, but you’ll gradually take on additional tasks. We tune your growth path to your experience and your knowledge.

  • You have a bachelor’s or a master’s diploma and an outspoken interest in financial markets.
  • You love to immerse yourself in figures. You work accurately and with an eye for detail.
  • Your biggest strengths include analysis.
  • You share in your colleagues’ love of working with others. At the same time, you have no problems organising your own tasks independently and efficiently, with respect for timing requirements and deadlines.
  • You communicate effectively in both written and spoken English.
