What does this job entail?

The situation in a nutshell: we are already doing a lot with data and have some wonderful future plans for it. If you enjoy working on a creative puzzle with tables, you’ll find KBC a satisfyingly challenging place to play.

Our team is a mix of enthusiastic starters and colleagues with extensive experience. They all enjoy working together and learning from each other. We treat our in-house experts to some of the most interesting technology around today.

As the data analyst in our team, you focus on functional analyses and functionally working out data solutions. You question: ‘What do end-users need to see in a glance on this dashboard?’, ‘How do we feed this AI model with the right data?’ and ‘How do we pass good leads through to our sales colleagues to ensure they can proactively contact clients with relevant proposals?’

It’s a particularly enjoyable job in data, where smooth communication and collaboration are as important as your technical skills. You work together with data stewards, other data analysts, and your colleagues in Belgium and abroad who build up the data layer.

What do we expect from you?

  • You and your business colleagues discuss their data needs. By listening carefully and asking the right questions, you understand exactly what is needed to create added value.
  • You perform an analysis and fine-tune it with the business partner. You subsequently discuss this with the technical experts on your team to clarify the technical side. The result is an architectural and technical design of the data environment and the supporting frameworks and platforms.
  • You use your analysis as a foundation on which to set up functional test cases. In this way, you test whether the data solution does what it’s supposed to.
  • You help with the implementation and maintenance of the technical set-up. You offer users your support for the set-up and maintenance of data.

Your key strengths?

Confident businesswoman working on laptop at her workplace at modern office.Blurred background.
  • You have a master’s degree in a relevant subject like ICT, engineering sciences or commercial engineering in management information systems.
  • You’re particularly interested in the tools, technologies and microservices within Big Data: Hadoop, Spark, Object Oriented Development, Python, scripting, Squid, JSON, Scala, Docker infrastructure, OpenShift, Kibana, Grafana and others …
  • You’re motivated by the search for the information and insights hidden in data. Your curiosity and desire to learn are undeniable, but also infectious!
  • You enjoy working with colleagues from a variety of domains and make the most of their insights and expertise.
  • You communicate effectively and efficiently. You express your ideas in a clear, structured and convincing manner, both in Dutch and English.

What can we offer you?

  • You’re assured of an excellent onboarding and a pleasant, collegial work atmosphere.
  • You’re given plenty of room to (further) develop your skills. The world of tools and technology is evolving quickly, but you stay up to date thanks to training and education. A mentor guides you on your way.
  • Across your entire career at KBC, we encourage you to grow as a person and as a professional. You can follow training courses in which you further sharpen your hard and soft skills.
  • Our offices are easily accessible by public transport. You’re also welcome to partly work from home.
  • Flexible work hours help you to balance your work and your private life.
  • We offer you a permanent contract and a competitive salary, supplemented by extralegal benefits. Sounds familiar? Of course. It’s what you read in every job description. At KBC, we make a difference with our extended flex package. It’s too extensive to go into details here. However, we will happily discuss the various benefits—large and small—at your interview.

Respect and inclusion are core values at KBC.

We believe that the individuality of our employees and the diversity of our teams make it possible to achieve great things. That’s why we recruit new employees based on talent and motivation, regardless of their background or story.
