What does this job entail?
How can you direct your career when IT is such a broad field? There's no obvious path, we know that too. That's why we've created this traineeship at KBC IT: a 27-month fast track with projects and assignments in various IT domains. Together with your coach, you'll get to know our corporate culture and discover where your talents really lie. Do you get a buzz from the content, or do you prefer to guide colleagues, or both?
What's more, you'll work on projects that give you valuable practical experience. Perhaps you'll contribute to digital applications which help us achieve our sustainability goals, offer our customers a better experience, or enable us to work in a more data-driven way. Perhaps you'll add your weight to our cybersecurity programme or contribute to a high-performance IT infrastructure.
More specifically:
- You indicate in which three of these five domains you'd prefer to work:
- cybersecurity;
- systems engineering;
- data analysis;
- functional analysis;
- software engineering.
- You will become acquainted with various domains within our IT, where Isabel Van Mele, as the driving force and CIO of IT, will help set the course. Isabel's colleagues will think along with you about which domain and which team best suits you. So you're in good hands.
- After nine months in the first domain, you'll switch to the next. After another nine months, you'll switch again. After 27 months you'll have completed various projects and assignments in three different IT domains.
What's important to us is that wherever you work, you work well together, communicate smoothly, and help each other grow. We want to make the most of the opportunities new technologies offer and that needs teamwork. So, after 27 months, you'll have built a considerable network.
What do we expect from you?
- A well-thought-out onboarding programme to give you a flying start. For example, there are starters days, and you'll soon meet your mentor who'll guide you through your traineeship.
- There's a cycle of training courses for you to follow throughout your traineeship. These include internal and external courses covering hard skills as well as soft skills.
- Every nine months, you'll be working in a different IT domain so you'll also learn on the job from your colleagues in the various departments. We believe that you'll learn more from working in different environments.
- You'll learn today's IT challenges in a creative and innovative environment. You'll discover how experts view these challenges, let them inspire you.
- You can count on numerous opportunities for networking within KBC. You'll also be part of the Young KBC Community.
- At KBC, you'll find a combination of applications and integrations developed in-house, you'll work with state-of-the-art technologies, and get to know the colleagues who made the best mobile banking app in the world. Sounds good, doesn't it?
And you certainly won't stop learning at the end of this traineeship. As part of our IT team, during your career you'll be continually learning from your colleagues, and they from you. What's more, you'll have every opportunity to progress or explore another job within KBC.
