Insurance

As a KBC employee, you are covered by a robust pension plan that supplements your state pension entitlement. We also offer you a solid hospitalisation insurance policy that your family members can also join, guaranteed income in the event of work disability and death cover for your next of kin, protecting all of your family against various risks.

Supplementary pension plan and death cover

KBC contributes to your pension reserve by applying a four-tier formula of contribution percentages. No employee contribution needs to be paid; KBC covers all costs. You continue to build up pension during maternity leave and illness. If you die before you reach your retirement age, we pay a fixed funeral allowance and death cover exceeding the pension reserve you accumulated. Each child for whom you receive child benefit also receives an additional amount.

Hospitalisation insurance

If you are admitted to hospital, for example to give birth or because you had an accident, KBC’s hospitalisation insurance pays the medical expenses after your health insurance cover has been exhausted. The cover also includes medical expenses incurred three months before and six months after your admission to hospital. In some cases, the insurance also covers expenses incurred for medical and paramedical care without hospitalisation.

From your very first day of work, you are automatically insured free of charge. If you’d like to add family members to your policy, KBC will cover part of their premium.

Guaranteed income

If you are unable towork for a certain period of time – for instance due to illness, because you had an accident or to take maternity leave – KBC will pay you a certain amount on top of the benefit paid by your health insurance fund. In the first year of your work disability we will supplement the benefit to 100% of your taxable monthly salary.

Non-life insurance

Work-related travel with your private car is covered under comprehensive insurance.
If you or any family members experience a serious incident, personal assistance will be provided both in Belgium and abroad. All expenses are paid: search and rescue costs, transport to a hospital or to your own home, urgent assistance abroad, and early return from travel or an extended stay.
