Curious to find out how fraudsters operate these days?
Fraudsters don't usually call to try and steal your codes nowadays. Instead, they send an e-mail asking clients to enter their PIN on a fake website – also known as a phishing site – that closely resembles the real KBC website.
How does antiphishing software work?
Within 30 minutes of being notified of a phishing site's existence, we add the fake site to the antiphishing software. Clients who have installed this software will no longer be able to visit the site and therefore have extra protection.
KBC also has the fake website taken down, but that takes longer.
If you think you have received a suspect e-mail purporting to come from KBC, forward it immediately to secure4u@kbc.be.
This way, you not only help KBC in the fight against phishing, but other clients too!
Install antiphishing software
KBC strongly advises you to install this software. It offers you extra protection against fraudsters who try to trick you into doing thinks like providing your PIN over the phone. Divulging your PIN can result in claims for which you may be held liable.
