Opening an account from abroad
1. Use the manual option to apply for your account. You can't use itsme©.
2. Check to see if you meet one of these criteria*:
- You can prove that you will shortly be moving to Belgium
- You can provide proof of residence at a Belgian address
3. When you receive an e-mail about your new account, be sure to drop by a KBC branch in Flanders within 30 days of applying to pick up your debit card.
* If you don’t meet any of these criteria, you won’t be able to open an account with KBC.

Even if you don’t currently have Belgian citizenship or a permanent address in Belgium, you can still apply online for a current account with us. It's important to remember that when you arrive in Belgium, you must go to your branch to sign for and pick up your debit card. Be sure to take along your ID card and residence permit.
