H.Essers and KBC sharing the journey towards more sustainable business

H.Essers is one of Europe's leading logistics companies, serving sectors such as chemicals, pharmaceuticals, infrastructure and parts. Depending on the customer's needs in terms of lead times, budget and carbon footprint, their smart system combines transport by water, rail and road to create a single, integrated synchro-modal solution. The company has made significant efforts in recent years to make its business operations more sustainable, helped among others by KBC. For example, KBC has co-financed investments in latest-generation tractors, energy efficiency of buildings, solar panels and wind turbines.

Gert Bervoets, CEO of H.Essers, discusses these efforts in more detail. He also talks about what he has learned on the journey to becoming a more sustainable business, and what further steps he is hoping to take on this journey in the future.
