What does this job entail?
At KBC, the Market Risk team oversees the financial risks of our KBC Group dealing room. As a market risk manager, you become part of the risk team that supports, challenges, and advises our dealing rooms during their activities, safeguards that our control environment is up to standards, and ensures that risks are known and inderstood by business and senior management.

- act as a partner for our dealing rooms, trades and sales dealers, using our expertise on trading market risk to our their benefit;
- adapt,anticipate and stay up to date with anychanges in our field of work;
- offer different stakeholders insights into risks via monitoring, analyses, advice, reporting and follow-ups;
- continuously improve our systems and processes with the help of technical experts and colleagues who think along with us on a conceptual level;
- work together, moving forward as a single team while giving our staff members the room to organise their work independently.
What do we expect from you?
- You immerse yourself in risk management, and more particularly, in trading market risk and counterparty risk.
- You contribute to our core activities: business analysis, process engineering, change management …,
- You investigate and implement cases across different applications, each with their own coding language (SQL, VB script, Python, Qlik, …).
- You keep in touch with our various stakeholders and align on planned changes
- You help transform the risk function, make us more digital & data driven and better connected.
Your key strengths?
- You have a master's degree in data, economics or science (STEM). You have a clear affinity for risk management, the world of financial and market risks and want to deepen your knowledge of this.
- Ideally, you have had your first experience in a similar position. Don't have this yet? Then perhaps you can convince us with your drive and your quantitative skills for this position.
- You communicate clearly and convincingly in English
- You’ll notice there’s not a long list of requirements here. To match with this function you like an analytical challenge and like to dive deep into a subject. You like making use of tooling to process data like for example Python, Matlab, SAS, SQL, QlikSense. At the same time, you enjoy thinking conceptually, and are comfortable taking a more pragmatic approach were appropriate. You get energy from frequent interactions with colleagues and management, and want to inform them about your findings in a clear and convincing way.
