From Belgian merger to European reference
What once started out small has grown on the international stage. KBC was created in 1998 following the merger of two Belgian banks (the Kredietbank and CERA Bank) and a Belgian insurance company (ABB).
Today, the group is active in its 5 core markets of Belgium, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Bulgaria. We proudly boast:

Our solid solvency position in 2022 was reflected in a capital ratio of 15.2%, well above the minimum requirement of 10.81% set by the European Central Bank and the National Bank of Belgium. International awards for KBC Private Banking

Indeed, this philosophy has received due recognition and appreciation in the professional world. The Financial Times has named KBC Private Banking the ‘Best Private Bank in Belgium’ on 6 separate occasions.
In London, the Global Private Banking Awards 2023 were presented by the trade magazines Professional Wealth Management and The Banker, both part of the Financial Times. KBC Private Banking was twice awarded the 'highly commended' award for Best Private Bank Belgium and the 'Best Digital initiative in Private Banking' for Europe. The jury was particularly impressed by the innovative digital strategy in which people and technology work closely together.
From leading London banking magazine Euromoney, we received the "Best Private Banking Belgium" award no less than 9 times in 10 years. In 2024, the international jury awarded 3 additional awards. and we also fell in the prizes as Belgium's best in terms of digitality, sustainability and discretionary management.

In the 12,458 surveys completed in 2023, customers gave a 93.8% satisfaction score to the service provided by the KBC Private Banking office. The surveys are conducted by the independent research firm Ipsos.
